I went to Jail...

I went to jail in Downtown Raleigh

Yes, you read that right. Little ol' me, Patricia, went to jail. It's kind of a long story but I'll try to summarize.

To start, I want to thank Raleigh Bail Bonds for helping out. They were a godsend. Joseph was awesome and got me out for 4% down. Can't thank them enough.

Now for the story...

I was planning to go out with a few girlfriends for the evening. We were going to hit up a movie, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and then go grab a few drinks.

My BFF Tabitha (name withheld to protect her reputation) decided that we skip the move and head straight to the bars so we could meet up with some guy she was seeing.

I live in Raleigh, NC and if you know anything about Raleigh, you'll know that bar scene is either turnt up or completely dead. Tonight it was really turnt up.

Night Out in Raleigh

We started out at The Boxcar where we had a couple girly drinks and played some game. Yes, girls play arcade games too! Things were pretty mellow at Boxcar so we decided to head on to somewhere a little bit more exciting.

Next, we found ourselves hanging at Coglins, trying to relive the 90s. Coglins is one of my favorite bars and I go there about once per month. We met up with few guys that Tabitha knew and they started buying rounds of shots.

What was supposed to be a mellow night ended up becoming wild. We finally left the bar at at around 2am and headed to a nearby Waffle House to eat.

As I got into my car to head home, I noticed a police cruiser in the bank parking lot across the street. I thought nothing of it and proceed to start my car and drive home.

After a few minutes of driving I saw the flashing red and blue lights in rear view mirror. I was immediately stricken with worry and guilt, knowing I would certainly be arrested if the officer detected the smell of alcohol.

Sure enough, this cop had a nose like a bloodhound, or maybe I just reeked of booze. Either way, I was going down - hard.

Getting booked into the Wake County Jail was a nightmare. I was placed in a holding cell with hookers and dope fiends while I awaited processing.

During this time I was able to call a bail bondsman to get me out. Luckily, it only took one call for me to secure a bondsman.

I was out in few hours but the trauma still has me frightened. I know that I'll probably lose my license for a few months and need to do some community service, but I could also wind up in jail if I'm not careful.

Let this be a lesson to you all: Don't drive drunk in Raleigh, NC.
